Why I’m here

As a journalist specializing in international relations and a safety engineer for a global company, I’ve traveled to over 40 countries, living between Rome and Bilbao. While this life has given me a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, I’ve grown disillusioned with modern travel. Mass tourism and globalization are erasing local identities, harming communities, and turning once-meaningful journeys into superficial experiences.

This site is my response—a space to reflect on why we traveled in the past, to recall the stories of historical travelers, and to critically assess the impact of today’s global tourism. It’s time to rediscover the true purpose of travel: to connect, learn, and respect. Join me in exploring a more mindful approach to seeing the world.
